Profiles of Eureka Community Cast Members!

Eileen E. Bartlett (Isabelle Rose) helps rear her 7-year old granddaughter Hopi, who her son and his wife adopted when they were nearly forty years old.  She loves Hopi and Eureka, which she believes is full of wonderful, open-minded, cultured, and exciting people.  This is her first attempt at acting.

Cinthia Beltran (Electrician) likes to sing and hang out with all of her friends.  She also enjoys playing baseball and some other sports.  She’s going to enter the 6th grade this fall at Alice Birney Elementary School and loves hanging out at the beach and the mall.

Joana Barragan Carrillo (Christina) is in 6th grade.  She likes making friends all the time.  She plays the trumpet and would like to be a doctor.  She plays basketball.  She was The Nutcracker at the Arkley Center and played the little girl. 

Sam Cord (John) is a local community actor and student at College of the Redwoods.  With any luck he will be accepted to his preferred colleges and will continue his theater studies.  However, he will never forget the theater companies here in Eureka who gave him his start.

Yenin Cuenca (Citizen/Argonaut/Water Nymph) is twenty-one years old and teaches regional Mexican dances.  Her dream and goal is to be a famous singer or actress.

Zach Davis (Electrician) has lived in Eureka for seven years and has seen things and places you normally can’t see in a large city.  He thinks you get more chances in Eureka to do things like bands and starting new businesses.

Tucker E. Duke (Golden Fleece Puppeteer) lives in Eureka and has recently graduated from Zane Middle School.  This fall, Tucker will attend Eureka High School as a freshman.  He intends to pursue a career in movies with the ultimate goal of becoming a famous, Oscar-winning director.

Toni Farrar (Mourner/Colleen/Argonaut) was born in Eureka.  From high school cheerleading to ultra distance running (50 miles), from raising three children to spoiling eight grandkids, from multiple jobs post-high school to 20+ years at Shaw and Petersen Insurance, from High School dances to Irish Stepdance performances, Toni lives it up in Eureka.

Heather Faust (Mourner/Citizen/Argonaut/Harpie) was born in Chico, California and moved to Eureka when she was five.  Heather recently graduated from St. Bernard’s Catholic High School and is now registered for fall classes at College of the Redwoods and plans on getting her multi-subject teaching credential and teaching kindergarten.

Gerlinger (The Serpent) is an 18,000 pound capacity fork lift and was born in 1948.  Fathered by Carl Gerlinger of Gerlinger Iron Works Company in Salem, Oregon, she has been working at Blue Ox since 1975.  This is her first play and since getting a taste of the limelight, she has refused to run on anything less than super unleaded and is now very difficult to start before noon.

Brittany Gonzales (Harpie/Naomi) lives, works, and attends school in Eureka for the time being.  She enjoys participating in community theatre, knitting, and drizzly days.

Iris Gonzalez (Argonaut/Amber) is going to be a senior at Eureka High School.  Iris has lived in Eureka for thirteen years and loves the local theaters in the area that have inspired her future. 

Judy Gray (Bea/Argonaut) is a 65-year old grandmother and mother with more time than money, so she was happy to be cast in her first play.  With her friend Irene, Judy decided it was time to be discovered, and Cornerstone surprised them and agreed.  She loves music and art and all the good-looking young men in the cast.

Justin Harrison (Argonaut) was born and raised in Humboldt County for twenty-three years.  The last time he was in a play was nine years ago in high school.  He is really into sports and likes to fish.

Rob Hepburn (Dennis) has lived in Humboldt County since 1982 and is an alumni of Humboldt State University.  He is a founding member of “Chapter 54 Veterans for Peace” based in Arcata and Eureka.

Irene Heskett (Emily/Argonaut) is a 66-year old retired legal clerk with five children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.  She’s never worked in theater before but is honored to be part of this artistic production.  It is uplifting for her to work with such a professional group.

Linda Hills (Queen Pelias) was married for thirty-two years and widowed in 2001.  She is a retired dental hygienist and an active care giver.  She has two sons, six grandchildren, and one gentleman friend.  She has lunch at the Senior Center, goes dancing on Monday nights, and was active in church choirs, and college productions.  She enjoys exercise and karaoke as time and energy permit.  She owns a 68-year old “Carson House” and moved to Eureka in 1977 from San Clemente.

Tinamarie Ivey (Costume Design Assistant) received both a Master and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theatre Arts. She has trained in the Michael Chekhov Acting Technique, and is a member of MICHA (Michael Chekhov Association); her training also includes voice and movement with David Smukler, (former student of Edith Skinner and Kristin Linklater), and founder of the Canadian Voice Intensive. She is also co-founder of Sanctuary Stage in Eureka CA.Tinamarie most recently performed in a one woman play, Bad Dates, produced by Redwood Curtain. She is currently writing a one woman play based on the life of the Countess Erzebet Bothory. 

Adina Lawson (Agent/ Argonaut) teaches Theater Arts and English at Eureka High School.  She has often appeared onstage at North Coast Repertory Theater and Ferndale Repertory.

Frank Mancinelli (Jason’s Father/Leon/Argonaut) is originally from the east coast but has been a Eureka resident for almost twenty years.  With a background in radio and television broadcasting, he is also a musician and a visual artist and has participated in community theater in Southern California and college theater in his native New Jersey.

Claire Marie Mannle (Old Woman/Hera/Egret) has been “flying” in and out of Eureka ever since she moved to Humboldt County to attend the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theater last fall.  Recent work includes The Body Remembers and Wanted: The Bridgeville Troll.  Thanks to everyone at Cornerstone for this opportunity!

Kitty May/Macy Lee (Assistant Stage Manager) is a recent Humboldt State University graduate in Biology and Psychology, has served as an army medic in Iraq, and is currently the VFW commander for the Mad River Post in Arcata.  She works with veteran families on a weekly basis to help them improve their quality of life.

Mirth First (Barbershop Quartet) was founded eleven years ago by members of the Humboldt Harmonaires Men’s Chorus. The quartet is amazed that they are still getting along after all these years.  Special thanks to founding lead Don Setterlund, who was unable to join the group for this performance.

Lincoln Mitchell (Pop) has been in many productions since coming to the North Coast 19 years ago and many more in far off lands like San Francisco and Los Angeles.  His best production is a math major at UC Santa Cruz.

Caesar Murillo (Follow Spot Operator/Electrician) lives here in Eureka and really enjoys reading and writing.  He is also very interested in music and acting.  This fall he will be entering his sophomore year of high school at Academy of the Redwoods.

Mary Carmen Murillo (Electrician/Deck Electrician) lives here in Eureka and is going into 7th grade at Zane Middle School.  She enjoys playing the violin and has been playing it for two years now.  She also enjoys riding her bike, hanging out with friends and spending time with her family.

Warren Ross (Argonaut/Spider) will be a senior at Eureka High School this fall.  He is 17 and has lived in Eureka since he was five.  He is very active in a group called Spare Change, a teen theater and peer education group of Six Rivers Planned Parenthood.  Acting is a love!

Carolanne Sallis (Mourner/Chalciope) has lived in Eureka for seven years.  She grew up in the same neighborhood as the setting in Jason in Eureka and currently still lives in the city. She is a senior in high school and loves math!  She plans to attend Humboldt State University.

Monica Schallert (Mourner/Citizen/Argonaut/Water Nymph) moved to Eureka from Los Angeles with her parents in 1990 and attended St. Bernard’s Catholic School where she was a three-sport Varsity Athlete, earning All County Honors in each sport.  Monica has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Minor in Psychology from California Lutheran University and is about to be in pursuit of her Master’s degree.

Carrig Eamonn Seery (Mouner/Larry/Argonaut) was born in Los Angeles but finally arrived home in Humboldt County 13 years ago.  He was last seen on stage in the spring 2008 production of La Bệte at College of the Redwoods, where he is enrolled in the Cabinetmaking Certificate program.

Maria Shier (Golden Fleece Puppeteer) will be a sophomore at Eureka High School this fall.  She loves dogs, movies, and writing letters in the morning before school.  She is a big fan of Johnny Depp and is currently taking an acting class at College of the Redwoods.

Dan Stone (Technical Director) has an MFA in Directing and BA in Acting and Dramatic Literature and is the chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at St. Bernard’s, a college preparatory institution.  He is co-founder of Sanctuary Stage in Eureka, CA. Dan is currently developing public theatrical art installations that utilize public architecture and land marks.

Russell Stone (Boy Jason) was born in Humboldt County and loves being a cub scout.  Russell wants to be a stand-up comedian and a commedia clown when he grows up!

Donald Taylor (Carl) was born in Idaho and moved to Eureka in 1982.  He’s never been in a play before and is excited to be part of this production.  He helps out at Sears and hangs out at the Senior Center.  Donald loves music and learning new things.

Miranda VanZanten (Golden Fleece Puppeteer) loves to read and write.  She is a very active person and loves dogs and horses.  She rides horses at R ranch.  Favorite hobbies include running and berry picking.  She will be an 8th grader at Zane Middle School next year.
